ADIEMUS: Songs of Sanctuary

Karl Jenkins’ Adiemus – Songs of Sanctuary cycle approaches language in its own unique way—rather than focusing on specific meaning, it brings the very sound of the human voice to the forefront. The result is music that doesn’t require us to know the language in which it is sung. The sound of the human voice takes center stage.

The concert will feature a combination of choral singing, orchestra, and rhythmic influences inspired by various cultures. Minimalism, distinctive melodies, and the use of the voice as an instrument are among the most characteristic elements of Jenkins’s work.

The performance features the Puls and Coloreton choirs under the direction of Silvie Młynarczyková and the Doubravan Chotěboř Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Jakub Pikla.
