AgeTech SF Hackathon: Closing the Emergency Detection Gap
Join us in addressing the urgent needs of older adults living alone at the AgeTech SF Hackathon!
As our loved ones age and often find themselves alone, the likelihood of facing emergencies without immediate support transforms into a critical issue. This hackathon aims to close the "discovery gap" by developing practical, human-centered solutions designed to ensure greater safety and support for older adults.
👩🔧 Who Should Join?
Designers, engineers, founders, clinicians, operators, researchers, and technologists are all welcome to collaborate on innovative solutions that enhance the well-being of older adults and their caregivers. Whether you're passionate about aging in place, care navigation, or accessibility, your insights can help tackle one of today's most pressing challenges.
🔍 Challenge Focus
Teams will address a featured challenge centered around:
- Detecting falls, medical events, or unexpected changes in routine
- Escalating concerns to the appropriate caregiver or support system
- Enhancing coordination among older adults, families, care providers, and emergency services
- Supporting safer, dignified aging in place
The detailed challenge topic will be refined during the May 21st Roundtable, bringing together older adults, caregivers, and leaders in healthcare, emergency response, and technology to pinpoint critical gaps.
