Über die Veranstaltung

“Many of us pursue pleasure with such breathless haste that we hurry past it.”
― Søren Kierkegaard Either/Or.

How does one make decisions in life? Do we aim for a purpose? Are we expecting something in return for what we call our “best performances”? Do we believe in entitlement? If Life is a game, what are we trying to win? Who is the opponent? Are there only two teams against each other? Are your friends and family in your team? If not, what is the prize/price for defeating them?

According to Carse, there are at least two kinds of games: A finite game is played for the purpose of winning, an infinite game for the purpose of continuing the play.

Through his book, the author proposes a way to see work, relationships, politics, and other endeavors in life one way or the other, and invites us to consider the possible consequences of playing them as finite versus infinite games. While how we choose to play the game of life will have an impact on how we experience events, so will the way we choose to tell the story of the game.

📗Please, read the book and join us for an active exchange of ideas about it. We will do our best to keep the conversation mindful and open while being respectful. Ask questions, inquire opinions, listen to what others have to say, share, and disagree about. You do not need to understand the full content of the book to join, but we encourage you to finish it and bring what you got from it with you in mind; we are all here to learn and have fun while doing it.📘
