Pittsburgh Three Sisters Garden Planting with Onondaga Nation Farm
Join us for the annual Three Sisters Garden Planting with Angela Ferguson from the Onondaga Nation Farm! 🌾
📍 Location: Garden next to 5430 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206
🗓️ Date: Join us for a day of planting, learning, and community spirit!
This special planting event celebrates our connection to the Haudenosaunee Nation and honors the original treaty between the Haudenosaunee and the Dutch settlers. Together, we will plant seeds gifted to Pittsburgh from the Haudenosaunee Nation, arranged in traditional mounds. 🌽✨
Angela will share rich stories of seed rematriation, delve into the pre-European histories of the Pittsburgh area, and more—creating an essential and nourishing experience for all involved. Community members are encouraged to join in the potluck style food and drink. Feel free to bring a dish to share! 🍽️
Note: The setting is an urban farm, so be prepared for varied footing and seating. We'll provide some chairs and a tent for shade but plan accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out at fermentpittsburgh@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you there!
