Music aficionados in New York are in for a treat at the Bach Virtuosi Festival (BVF)! 🌟 This remarkable gathering showcases some of the world’s finest musicians and interpreters of Johann Sebastian Bach’s timeless masterpieces. The festival takes place in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
🎤 Kick-off! The festivities begin at St. Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church with extraordinary performances featuring Bach's Concerto for Three Violins in D Major, Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor, and the revered hymn A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.
✨ One of the highlights will be when acclaimed harpsichordist Arthur Haas graces the stage to perform The Goldberg Variations, considered one of the greatest keyboard compositions ever, at the cozy Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church. Haas, a prominent figure in Baroque music education in the U.S., was honored with the 2023 Howard Mayer Brown Award for Lifetime Achievement by Early Music America.
💖 Grand Finale! The festival concludes with a delightful performance of Bach’s Coffee Cantata (Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht), directed by the award-winning Annette Jolles. The night is complemented with the majestic Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major.
