Beate Winkler – Color in the Head: Art in Dialogue

Artist Beate Winkler presents her exhibition project Color in the Head: Art in Dialogue at the gallery of the Austrian Cultural Forum Prague, responding to the current period of transformation and widespread uncertainty.

The artist emphasizes the importance of creativity, openness, and the ability to seek new possibilities in a time when the old world is fading and the new one has not yet arrived. According to the artist, the art helps to create positive visions of the future by encouraging new ways of thinking, shifts in perspective, and inspiration for active engagement.

Beate Winkler rolls and unrolls her works made of handmade paper, attaching them to the wall in various ways and forms, using the spiral as a symbol of change and movement. Parts of her paintings remain hidden, highlighting the idea of unseen possibilities and the openness of interpretation. Her “open artworks” invite society to engage in dialogue and to respond creatively to the changes in the world.

As part of the exhibition, visitors are invited to share their ideas for social cohesion on the “Wall of Dreams for a New US.” In this way, the project connects art, social dialogue, and the search for a shared future.
