Closing evening: Bodies in Transformation

Visitors are invited to join the closing night of the Dancetopia festival, which celebrates collective experience, growth, and a love of dance. Become part of a space created for us to witness, reflect, and carry something forward.

The evening opens with Mnohodinec by Lucia Kašiarová, emerging from a state of multiplicity within and beyond the individual. Through body, voice, and imagination, personal and collective experiences intertwine, questioning where one ends and another begins. Chance, error, superposition, dance, physics, and movement become starting points for action. Mnohodinec unfolds as a collective creation carried through the body of the performer, inviting us to face the ungraspable, the unspoken, and the unresolved, not in search of conclusion, but in the act of facing it itself.

The program continues with Ergopermaperformance by Pavel Matela (Permaperformer). Responding to the immediate environment, its tools, sounds, and atmospheric conditions, the performer carries out routine work activities with conscious physical engagement. Movement and sound interplay when a radio broadcast weaves into the action with a playing composition or a spoken word. The audience is invited to witness, and at times gently enter, this evolving workspace, where the boundaries between performance, task, and participation remain fluid.

The evening concludes with Solo 2025 + Slow Rave by Peter Pleyer. Drawing on practices such as release technique and contact improvisation, and resonating with lineages connected to figures like Steve Paxton or Trisha Brown, the solo moves between physical memory, storytelling, and contemplative presence. It asks what remains – of movement, of practice, of a dancing body shaped over time. Emerging from a longer artistic trajectory, the work becomes both a continuation and a quiet transformation, guided by curiosity and a sustained love of dance.
