Explore Haptic Art: A Unique Conversation 🎨✨

Join us for an insightful conversation as part of Body of Work, an event dedicated to exploring art that incorporates technology to transform your body into its medium.

Schedule of Events:

  • 17:00 - Mingling, Drinks, and Exhibition 🍹
  • 18:00 - Conversation 🎤
  • 19:30 - End

Art that prioritizes touch as its main sensory experience challenges conventional cultural spaces. Where can it be showcased—gallery, yoga studio, or elsewhere? Should it evoke a serene SPA sensation, or can it also provoke deeper thoughts and questions?

Technology often creates a sense of distance, but in pieces like these, it serves as a grounding force, promoting connection. However, somatic art can sometimes be pigeonholed into health-focused interpretations, simplifying art to mere tools for an easier life—while the best art complicates our existence.

Can we use touch to elicit challenging experiences? What would be the death metal equivalent of somatic art? 🎸
