Dive into the exhilarating world of dynamic flying in this engaging contact improvisation workshop. Perfect for those with some prior experience in contact improvisation, this session emphasizes playful exploration of lifts, momentum, and shared flight.

🤝 We will focus on:

• Generating and receiving energy
• Efficient floor movement
• Timing, counterbalance, and responsive partnering
• Safe entry and exit from lifts while maintaining a continuous flow

🌈 What to Expect
Dynamic flying is all about balancing trust and technique. Through guided exercises, explore pathways into the air, including spirals, weight shifts, and directional forces for effortless lifting and landing. Develop your sensitivity via touch and learn to generate movement collaboratively rather than through force.

Mirva fosters a supportive atmosphere, empowering participants to build physical confidence while prioritizing safety and awareness. You can look forward to a blend of structured tasks and open improvisation, allowing you to integrate new skills into your movement language.

📜 Requirements
Some prior experience with contact improvisation or partner work is recommended.

👩‍🏫 Meet Mirva Mäkinen

• Doctor of Dance, graduated from the University of Arts, Helsinki (2018)
• Researcher in Somaesthetics of Contact Improvisation
• Dance teacher and choreographer with extensive experience in international dance schools and companies
• Passion for exploring movement and kinetic energy
