In today's world, marked by multiple crises, our perception of linear time seems to unravel, leading to a sense of disorientation. Rather than having a stable continuum, our experiences are shaped by an uncertain future. Baud's artwork presents this notion vividly, featuring robotic visions of a mechanized world. In her piece TORCH, a steam locomotive stands proudly as a female figure—dressed in a welding mask and overalls—holds a unique tool that blurs the line between airbrush and welding equipment. Is she painting the locomotive or preparing to recreate it on canvas? 🤔

Another notable work, WATCHTOWER, engages with the very concept of time. Inspired by Walter Benjamin's reflections on historical events, it juxtaposes the bold actions of citizens during the Paris Commune uprising with the haunting memory of the University of Texas Tower shooting in 1966.

Set in the Ewa Opałka gallery / Together Pamoja Foundation, located in the historically rich Muranów district of Warsaw, this exhibition invites contemplation on the decolonization of time in Central and Eastern Europe. 🌍 The re-examination of time and space culminates in a thought-provoking exploration of the end of traditional hierarchies in art, highlighting the potential radicalism within contemporary figurative painting.
