Founded by musicians Elias and Johannes, both of whom began their journey in jazz, they sought out new avenues of creativity as they felt the pressure of the competitive jazz scene.

Their sound brings together elements from various genres such as pop, hip-hop, and folk, resulting in a contemporary style that honors their jazz roots while looking toward the future.

In 2024 and 2025, ELJO captivated audiences with their performances, including at the Moorjazz Festival, where critics praised them for crafting their own musical language. Their debut album, "Merging," which features hit singles and received rave reviews, was released in Spring 2025 through Blikflak.
