Svenska rock- och progglegenden Totta Näslund has left a legacy few can match, from his early years with Nationalteatern and the iconic Tältprojektet in the 70s to Totta's Bluesband and his successful solo career.
For both Mats Ronander and Dan Hylander, Totta was not just a colleague, but a dear friend and a musical soulmate. Many of Totta's early solo albums were crafted from Hylander's songs, leading to a significant collaboration starting in the mid-90s, highlighted by the timeless hit "En clown i mina kläder" from the album "Totta," which spent an impressive 28 weeks on the Svensktoppen chart.
The fruitful partnership continued with three more albums, peaking in 2001 with "Totta duetterna," a collection of duets that featured some of Sweden's finest female singers, including Jenny Silver (then Öhlund). This album achieved platinum status, marking a beautiful closing to six years of collaboration. Mats Ronander frequently joined Totta, contributing his own musical talents to "Totta duetterna."
