End of the regime

The documentary film The End of the Regime is based on the best-selling book of the same name by political scientist Alexander Baunov and tells the story of the fall of the last dictatorships in Western Europe: the Salazar regime in Portugal and the Francisco Franco regime in Spain. The causes of their downfall are far from obvious; on the contrary, at first glance, both dictatorships appeared to be entirely prosperous and stable.
