Join us at the Miller Library as we host the talented artist Esther Ervin for a captivating exhibition showcasing her diverse artistic creations. 🌿
Esther's work reflects her journey across various mediums, including metalwork, ceramics, sculpture, and fiber arts. Her recent focus on book and print arts, stemming from her time at the Black and Indigenous People’s Book Arts Residency at Editions Studio, brings an exciting dimension to this exhibition.
The highlight of the event will be the hand-bound artist book Gardening for the Soul, featuring 16 exquisite hand-tinted etchings accompanied by inspirational quotes from James W. Washington’s unpublished memoir. This book reflects the spiritual essence of Washington, a remarkable artist linked to the Northwest School and a long-time resident of the same neighborhood as Esther. 🌼
Don't miss the opportunity to interact with the artist during the Meet the Artist event, where you can explore her work and gain deeper insights into her creative process. 🎨
