Join us for an interactive workshop designed specifically for researchers in life sciences! 🌱
This workshop aims to amplify the potential of researchers involved in high-impact projects by building autonomous AI agents that can assist in your work. If you're part of the extended Foresight Institute community (Æthos, Effective Altruism, etc.), we welcome you to collaborate and contribute to this cyclical event!
Agenda 🗓️
- Doors Open: 10:00 AM
- Introduction to Agentic AI (Part 1): 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Lunch Break: 1:00 PM
- Introduction to Agentic AI (Part 2): 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
- Hands-On Building: 3:00 PM until late
We will kick off with an in-depth introduction to Agentic AI, focusing on core concepts like context windows and how agents can read papers, query databases, run analyses, and generate reports! 📚💻 You'll gain understanding about each component, enabling you to debug, extend, and adapt your agents long after the workshop concludes.
Prerequisites 🔧
- Minimal programming experience (e.g., Python)
What You’ll Leave With 🎁
- A working prototype agent tailored to your domain
- A clear mental framework of the agent stack: context windows, system vs. user prompts, tool calling, and more.
- A documented Python example repository (with mirrors in Kotlin and TypeScript)
- The vocabulary necessary to engage with agent papers and engineering articles confidently
What to Bring 🖥️
- A laptop (minimum 8GB RAM, with Python 3.10+ installed)
- A research question, dataset, or workflow you'd like to make tractable with an agent — bring your real problem for real solutions!
Note: Several external screens will be available for use at the Foresight Institute.
This workshop is brought to you by the Berlin AI Node of the Foresight Institute and Xemantic, leveraging Kazik Pogoda's extensive experience in teaching Agentic AI and his mentoring role in the Berlin Bio × AI Hackathon.
