About the event

Did you know that your kitchen scraps can uncover a hidden array of vibrant, natural colors? Join our Herbalist-in-Residence for an engaging workshop that dives into the ancient art of natural dyeing—without the need for synthetic chemicals!

In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn how to transform everyday food scraps—like onion peels, pomegranate rinds, and avocado pits—into beautiful, earthy dyes in stunning shades of gold, blush, and warm amber. Discover how mordants help color bond permanently with fibers, and put your knowledge into action by dyeing your very own piece of cotton cloth to take home as a unique keepsake.

Whether you're just starting out or are an experienced crafter, this workshop offers a chance to slow down, connect with nature, and view your compost bin in an entirely new light.

What to Expect:

  • A guided, approachable introduction to natural dyeing 👩‍🎨
  • Hands-on practice with time for Q&A with our herbalist 📚
  • A dyed fabric swatch to cherish and take home 🧵

What to Bring:

  • An apron or comfy clothes that can get a bit colorful! 🎨
