Future-Proofing Europe: The AI Preparedness Report

As AI development evolves, its trajectory remains uncertain—a potential plateau, competitive advancements between the US and China, international cooperation, or even accelerating self-improvement by AI systems. Each scenario introduces unique challenges, leaving European policymakers in a strategic dilemma: focusing on one future might lead to unpreparedness for another.

The Centre for Future Generations (CFG) has released a new report outlining twenty policy options tailored for success across five different scenarios, built on three pillars:

• Building capacity for competitiveness
• Defending digital sovereignty
• Leading global governance

We'll hear from David Janků, the report's lead author at the Arq Foundation, who previously served on the Advanced AI team at CFG. He will guide us through the findings and emphasize crucial actions that need immediate attention.
