Gay Takeover is a comedy show that brings LGBTQ+ entertainment to
locales where it's not traditionally welcome. We’re fun, we’re
outrageous, and we’re queer AF.

Capish?! Club: Misfit Comedy Space is an event space in NYC that
fosters a positive, inclusive community. Their comedy nights are known
for a heartwarming tone with a bit of sass. There you’ll meet
diverse comedy talent from across the city, including comedians
featured on Netflix, Comedy Central, Sirius XM, America's Got Talent,
HBO… and more!

Capish?! Club is hosted within Lunella Restaurant, the only venue in
the history of Little Italy that is women-owned and operated, and the
first venue in the district to celebrate LGBTQ+ pride.

F.A.Q.

What does the sliding scale mean? We want to keep the show accessible
to people who want to experience it, so a limited amount of tickets
are available at $5.

Can I get tickets at the door? Most likely, but we can't guarantee
they will be available. Reserve early to make sure you get a seat.

Is there a food or drink minimum? Nope. There is not a purchase
minimum for this show, but note that the full drink and food menu is
available (and super tasty!).

So the Capish?! Club: Misfit Comedy Space is located inside an Italian
Restaurant?! Yes! We love comedy...and food! It's like going to your
loud, Italian-American friends house where everyone is friendly,
charmingly funny... and will try to feed you.

Can I reserve a seat? All seating is on a first-come, first-served
basis. Note that doors are open at 7:30pm for the pre-show mingle. VIP
tickets come with the optiont to choose your seat.

Can I be one of the "first time comedians? Sure. Email
inthemidstprod@gmail.com and we'll set you up.

Can I come alone? Yes! Here's what a recnet audience member said about
that: "Definitely a good atmosphere for a solo person, everyone was
very welcoming and friendly but also not overwhelming."

What kind of comedy is presented? Mostly standup, as well as a
character act or two. We include a diverse array of comedians
expeirmenting with different ways to present standup. Audiences have
loved this aspect of the show. Audience members have described it as:

"Fun. Spontaneous."

"Unhinged....in the best way!"

"Quirky and alive!"

Will comedians make fun of me? This room is positive-vibes only! As
one audience members said point blank: "You won't be a target at this
show."

Is this one of those Manhattan shows that are full of tourists? Nope!
Our audience includes a diverse cross-section of New Yorkers with a
few neighborhood folks mixed in. (But if you're a tourist, you're
welcome to join us! We'll give you an authentic New York experience
you will not forget!)
