Embark on a sonic journey with La Ondou, where the music originates from Virginia Woolf's novel The Waves, exploring her intricate observations of nature and the soul at the turn of the 19th century. Through innovative ‘copy and paste’ techniques, new poems emerge from her lyrical insights, mingling seamlessly with the powerful voice of a modern Sicilian poet and the works of Spanish performer and poet Lorena Iyquierdo. Together, the artists create a vibrant tapestry of voices and sounds, pulling inspiration from Woolf’s poignant words: "(...) In this universe, nothing is fixed, everything ripples and dances (...)." 🎶

🧑‍🎤 The Italian saxophonist, cornettophone, and bansuri flute player Gianni Gebbia makes his debut on Minority Records with his album Sleep, set for release on LP and Bandcamp on May 1, 2026—a milestone celebrating his 65th birthday. Born in Palermo, Sicily, and educated at the University of Palermo's Faculty of Philosophy, Gebbia is celebrated for his avant-garde jazz style and is a pioneer in the circular breathing technique, which creates continuous, resonating tones. Past performances include the Total Music Meeting in Berlin among legends like Steve Lacy. His diverse collaborations and influences draw from jazz, painting, poetry, and renowned musicians like Marion Brown and Lee Konitz. 🎷
