HCO & Blackheath Halls orchestra play the music of Ignatius Sancho

Join us for a heartfelt tribute to Ignatius Sancho — a remarkable figure born on a slave ship who became a composer and man of letters in 18th-century England. 🌍✨

🎻 Members of the Hackney Community Orchestra and Blackheath Halls Orchestra, along with other talented local musicians, will perform a specially arranged selection of Sancho's music in the beautiful park he frequented in his youth. 🌞

In honor of his legacy, the Ignatius Sancho Café in the park was named after him in 2024. This event is FREE to all, so pack a picnic and enjoy the music!
