indo-net cafe
Last month, we hosted an internet cafe. In may, for aapi month, we're hosting an indo-net cafe—a showcase of Indonesian American narratives.
The event is inspired by Indonesian American director Nick Hartonto and his award-winning short film Daly City. You’ll be able to experience the movie, along with stories by MayLi Khoe, April Soetarman, and me, on computers in the indo-net cafe. At 3pm there will be a group viewing of the movie and Nick will be present to chat and answer questions afterwards!
There will be food by some of my favorite Indonesian foodmakers, tempeh by Reculture Foods and perkedel jagung and nastar by Nusa.
If you can’t make it on May 2nd, on May 3, 16, and 17, you’ll still be able to experience the showcase pieces on the computers at the studio!
