Discover how to create music that transcends the boundaries of time and space at the Invisible Architectures workshop held at the innovative A4 Sound Lab multichannel studio. Throughout the workshop, you will delve into spatial sound from various angles—compositional techniques, technical aspects, and the science behind psychoacoustics. Gain hands-on experience while crafting your own spatial compositions!

🎯 Who Should Attend?
This workshop is crafted for young sound artists, composers, and experimental musicians aged 16 to 30 (meeting Erasmus+ program stipulations) who possess basic experience in music creation using DAW software or environments like Max/MSP. If you have a passion for experimental composition, psychoacoustics, and multichannel sound, this is for you! We encourage applications from individuals with disabilities.
🔍 Workshop Details:
Over two weekends plus dedicated creative sessions, we will focus on:
- Listening to and analyzing spatial works
- Exploring perceptual phenomena
- Utilizing Reaper with IEM Plugin Suite
- Learning Max basics
- Binaural listening techniques
- Ambisonics & granulation techniques
- Preparing compositions for multichannel playback
💻 What to Bring:
Participants should bring their own laptop and headphones. If you need assistance with equipment, please reach out! We will provide technical instructions and recommended software tools such as Reaper, IEM Plugin Suite, SonoBus, Max 9 trial, and ambisonics libraries.
👤 About the Leader:
Patrik Herman, a composer and sound artist specializing in spectral composition, electroacoustic music, and software development, will facilitate the workshop. He has created multichannel compositions and installations, and he is the mind behind the Spectra environment.
🗨️ Language of Instruction:
The workshop will be conducted in Slovak.
