With roots stemming from the 1970s Asian Arts Movement and New York Loft scenes, Jason Kao Hwang brings a unique legacy to American music in this rare Seattle performance. This trio, which has been collaborating for over 20 years, explores a mix of freely improvised and intricately composed soundscapes, highlighting their deep musical communication.

🎸 Ken Filiano is a globally recognized bassist known for blending traditional and innovative techniques, collaborating with a diverse array of musicians including Anthony Braxton and Vinny Golia.

🥁 Andrew Drury, a fifth-generation Seattleite and mentee of Ed Blackwell, is celebrated for his pioneering approaches to drumming and has worked with numerous renowned artists such as Wadada Leo Smith and Myra Melford.

Continuum Culture & Arts (CCA), founded by Drury in 2015, aims to foster cultural exchange and support diverse artistic expressions.

🗓️ 2026 marks the fifth year of CCA's partnership with Seattle’s Low Income Housing Institute, showcasing Jason Kao Hwang’s Human Rites Trio at two LIHI facilities during this tour.
