Matiu, originally from Maliotenam—an Innu community on the North Shore of Quebec—is a talented singer-songwriter known for his mesmerizing mix of folk and blues, sung in both French and Innu. After releasing his debut EP in 2017 and his album Petikat in 2018, he returned in 2022 with Tipatshimushtunan, produced by the renowned Louis-Jean Cormier.

With a stellar band, Matiu captivates audiences with performances that blend festivity and emotion, all colored with humor and heartfelt sensitivity. His lyrics resonate with themes from daily life, his community, and the Indigenous identity journey, showcasing his authentic and energetic connection with fans.
