About the event

In which we draft a roadmap to turn the internet into a big science machine.
Ronen and Francisco are designing a $50M Thesis Driven Fund for MOSAIC: Modular Open Science, AI, and Collective Intelligence (concept note), as part of Renaissance Philanthropy's "Big if True" Science accelerator.
Our thesis is that the most impactful scientific breakthroughs will come from rearchitecting science itself, and specifically by scaling up coordination through intentional integrations of open social networks (like ATProto), AI and tools for thought (like Obsidian and Discourse Graphs).
Join us Sunday morning for a casual but diligent invite-only ~15 person workshop where we collect our wisdom and end the day with a 1st roadmap draft to accelerate science with AI, social media.
We expect the solution to require technical infrastructure and social coordination as 1st class citizens.
We're inviting researchers, metascience thinkers, funders from places like ARIA, Astera, Cosmos, Good Science Project, Foresight, FLF, d//acc, ATProtocol.
Some confirmed attendees:
Ashish Uppala: ARIA Human Flourishing
Aishwarya Kanduja: Analogue Group
Ivan Vendrov: ex Anthropic, Midjourney
Brandon Duderstadt: Calcifer Computing, Johns Hopkins, Wikipedia
Ronen Tamari: Cosmik Network, formerly Open Science Fellow at Astera Institute.
Francisco Carvalho: Epistemic Garden, ex METR, EU Commission AI Office
Amit Gupta: Catalyze

Let us know who else we should invite!
