About the event

Indigenous artists from across Australia will come together from 3–5 July for the seventh National Indigenous Art Fair ! It is a vibrant art market and program of events celebrating NAIDOC Week, held at The Cutaway, Barangaroo. The National Indigenous Art Fair (NIAF) is an ethical marketplace, offering a rare opportunity to purchase artworks directly from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists representing remote, community-owned art centres from the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia. In the spirit of the 2026 National NAIDOC theme, 50 Years of Deadly, NIAF 2026 will present an expanded program of live music, dance, large-scale installations, moving image works, weaving circles and more. A powerful celebration of Blak excellence in one of Sydney’s most unique cultural spaces. For the first time, the Fair will open with a special Opening Night event on Friday 3 July, offering exclusive early access to the art, program and the opportunity to connect with artists.NIAF 2026 introduces a group of Ambassadors, including Rachel Perkins, Dennis Golding, Alison Page, Jazz Money, Sebastian Goldspink and Daniel Browning. The 2026 program is shaped by a curatorium of First Nations curators leading key sectors of the Fair: Emily McDaniel (Talks), Miah Madden (Living Room), Rebecca Ray (Installation) and Kaleena Briggs (Music). Together, they bring cultural leadership and creative vision to what promises to be the most ambitious edition of NIAF to date.Presented by First Hand Solutions Aboriginal Corporation, the Fair is delivered in partnership with Destination NSW, University of Technology Sydney, Place Management NSW, City of Sydney, Macquarie Group Foundation, Gilbert + Tobin, the Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support (IVAIS) program and Mercure Sydney. In the lead-up to the Fair, more than 100 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists will travel to Sydney through First Hand Solutions’ Heart in Art program, supporting economic and professional development for artists working in remote communities, as well as across NSW, QLD, ACT and TASEvent Details📍 The Cutaway, Barangaroo📅 Friday 3 July | Opening Night | 5.30pm-8.30pm📅 Saturday 4 July | Art Fair | 10am-5pm📅 Sunday 5 July | Art Fair | 10am-4pmThis is a ticketed event, with proceeds supporting artistsThe Cutaway is easily accessible via public transport, including Metro.
