Phil Gammage & Friends at Porch Stomp / Cowgirl Seahorse Stage

About the event

Join us for Porch Stomp, an incredible outdoor festival hosted annually on Governor's Island! 🌄 Experience a day full of phenomenal music in a stunning natural setting, rain or shine!

This festival is free, but make sure to grab your round-trip ferry ticket from either Brooklyn or lower Manhattan before heading to the festivities!

Now in its eleventh year, Porch Stomp is excited to showcase over one hundred folk bands, artists, and performing arts organizations. The green expanses of Nolan Park and Colonels Row will transform into performance and educational spaces, featuring genres from traditional folk to blues, Cajun, Irish, bluegrass, and Americana! 🎤🎻

Expect unique performances and learning experiences, with concerts, workshops, and open jams throughout the day. Each curated stage will represent a distinct folk community in New York City, supported by wonderful partners including Sunny’s Bar, The Jalopy Theater and School of Music, Brooklyn Contra, Cowgirl Seahorse, The Folk Music Society of New York, People’s Voice Cafe, and many more! 🎉

Participate in engaging activities such as old-time, bluegrass jams, improvisation workshops, contra and square dances, and much more! Don’t miss out on this fantastic blend of music, culture, and community! 🎊
