Pride month queer bird walk and picnic in Helsinki
About the event
Join us this Pride Month for a delightful day of queer birding and a community picnic! 🌱
📍 Location: Lauttasaari Beach, Helsinki
🎉 What to Expect:
- Gather at Lauttasaari beach to set up cozy picnic spots. 🧺
- Enjoy conversations, relaxation, and of course, birdwatching! 🐦
- Led by our queer bird guide Sommer Ackerman, who will help you identify birds and explore the connection between queerness and nature. 🌈
- Participate in games, take short walks to spot more birds, or simply unwind at your leisure.
🥗 What to Bring:
- A blanket for sitting and some vegan food to share, like bread, fruit, or cake! Please note any ingredients for allergy safety.
- Don’t worry if you’re new to birding; this event is beginner-friendly!
👥 Who Can Join:
- Aimed primarily at young individuals (up to 29), but everyone is welcome!
- Language will mainly be English, with Finnish bird names included.
- We’ll have equipment like a telescope, bird books, and binoculars to share. 🔭
