Serenades and Heroes | from Britten to Beethoven
Join us for an unforgettable end-of-season concert extravaganza! 🌟 As loyal patrons might recall, this year we've celebrated the musical legacy of Benjamin Britten, marking 50 years since his passing. While we have showcased many of his lesser-known works, it was essential to include a piece of his vocal mastery in our program.
We are thrilled to feature the Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings—a truly magnificent composition! Prepare to be amazed by Tim Jackson's phenomenal horn playing, coupled with the powerful vocals of tenor Guy Elliott, who previously captivated audiences with his performance in Vaughan Williams’s On Wenlock Edge.
The concert opens with Malcolm Williamson’s Serenade and Aubade, showcasing the artistry of the former Master of the Queen’s Music. 🎼 In the second half, brace yourself for the monumental Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony, widely regarded as one of the greatest symphonies of all time—an innovative masterpiece paving the way for the Romantic era.
Don’t miss this extraordinary evening of music! 🎵🎤
Tickets are available at the door starting at 7:00 p.m., or you can secure yours in advance through Eventbrite. We look forward to welcoming you!
