The stars have aligned… ! As one of our first setten event guests Mama Matrix and our incredible friend Mayss happen to be in town on the same weekend for possibly the last setten gathering at Kwia, we have a power women lineup joined by a setten regular and local sound artist Merma Suelo and an event host Yuko Asanuma.

◎Mama Matrix
Mama Matrix is an alias of Irish interdisciplinary artist, producer and performer Clíona Ní Laoi. Working with deep bass pressure, dubbed-out rhythms and vocal incantations, she creates immersive performances that blur the boundaries between soundsystem culture, political poetics and sonic ritual. She writes and performs in multiple projects, including Dreamgirls, Salac, and All Times Now Nothing, and is a member of Bristol based collective and label Avon Terror Corps.
◎Mayss
Mayss is a Jordanian DJ, producer, curator, writer, and web developer. She is the founder of Dreaming Live, a podcast platform dedicated to uncompromised creative expression: Art as the voice of our Innermost, as opposed to art as entertainment.
Dreaming Live also operates as a record label, created to rally artists in support of Gaza; from treating injured children to supporting farmers.
Behind the decks and in the radio booth, her sound is impossible to confine – as broadranging as, in her own words, 'my love for the infinite interdimensional universe of music'. Her sets often thread together experimental textures, drawing on bands like Coil, group A, and Minimal Violence, while paying homage to the labels, scenes, and sonic traditions that continue to inspire her.
◎ Merma Suelo
Merma Suelo is a polyfaceted poet, researcher, and sound performer. Her sets are based on storytelling, moving between different layers and micro politics to attend to and transform our entanglements. She focuses on forming a possible thread, improvising from the mix, adding words and more. She has released music with labels such as (+)ambién, L-KW, and Other People.
