Stories from the Field:
Reframing Carbon Projects Through Story, Place, and Community
We are pleased to welcome you to Stories from the Field, a gathering that brings to life stories from land-based carbon projects, reframing them through story, place, and community.
As carbon projects and markets face increasing criticism around greenwashing, reputational and financial risk is on the rise. Integrating local stories from the field into project design can mitigate this risk. It offers an important and often overlooked social safeguard and project pillar that both enhances community buy-in and long-term stewardship, while differentiating projects often bogged down in technical reports and market speak.
Carbon is much more than a credit; it is part of a living landscape shaped by culture, memory, and a web of ecologies. By bringing forward stories from the field, project developers are able to build trust, reveal hidden risks, strengthen legitimacy, deepen community engagement, and amplify projects in a way that resonates across cultures.
Come ready to engage in storytelling and learn how to identify, listen to, and craft these narratives. You will also hear insights from project use cases that have cultivated partnerships with communities and incorporated stories from the field.
We look forward to welcoming you.
