Sunday Jam - a contact improvisation dance jam

Welcome to the Sunday Jam - a lively Contact Improvisation dance event! 🎶

We kick off each session with a guided warm-up to help us connect through solo movements and partner contact, flowing naturally into an open jam.

Location: Globala Gymnasium, Hornsgatan 93, 117 28, Stockholm. (Check the map in our discussion feed!)

Doors open: 16:50 before the intro and at 18:00 after the warm-up. Come at either time to be let in!

About Contact Improvisation 🌍

This unique dance form thrives on multiple dimensions, encouraging participants to listen deeply to their own movements, the surrounding space, and each other. It's a dynamic interplay of motion, engaging in both physical contact and fluid movement that invites unpredictability. Originating from the experimental postmodern dance scene in the 1970s in the USA, Contact Improvisation has now blossomed into diverse communities worldwide.

About the Jam 🎉

Open to anyone curious about dancing in contact, this jam invites everyone to dance, observe, and enjoy the space. Feel free to join or leave dances at any time, and remember: we encourage minimal talking and socializing inside the studio. If you need a break, simply step aside. We dance barefoot in comfortable clothing.

Membership & Pricing 💳

After over 30 years of Sunday jams, we've evolved into a non-profit association, Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm, aiming to provide affordable dance experiences:

• 1000 SEK: Year-long membership with unlimited access to Sunday jams.
• 700 SEK: Term-long membership also offering unlimited access for a whole term.
• 200 SEK: Support membership for those outside Stockholm, granting access to events.
• 100 SEK: Drop-in price for non-members or support members, payable via Swish or cash.
