🌸 Aris Kian (she/her) is not just a Houston enthusiast; she’s also a passionate advocate for abolition. Her beautifully crafted poems have graced publications such as Button Poetry, West Branch, and Obsidian Lit. As an Inprint C. Glenn Cambor Fellow, Aris completed her MFA at the University of Houston. Her team, Smoke Slam, led by Ebony Stewart, impressively ranked #1 at both the 2025 Bigfoot Regional Poetry Slam and the 2024 Southern Fried Poetry Slam. Notably, Aris has also served as the 2023-2025 Houston Poet Laureate and was awarded the prestigious 2025 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowship.
