Svět je báječné místo – Večer jazzu a poezie

The World Is a Wonderful Place – An Evening of Jazz and Poetry was created thanks to the creators’ original approach to working with poetry. In addition to well-known jazz compositions—which are a must at any jazz evening—the program will feature songs composed specifically for this event. The audience can thus not only listen to a recitation of a poem, but immediately afterward hear it set to music. We did not choose the verses of American poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti for this format by chance. He is a poet directly connected to jazz, who recited his own verses in jazz clubs, which is why we fell in love with his poetry. Composer and pianist Robert Fuchs wrote the music and sings his own songs. The verses, translated by Jan Zábrana, will be recited by Vlasta Korbová and Arnošt Proschek.
