Discover the fascinating history of currency at the Royal Castle's Numismatic Cabinet! Established in 1981, this exhibit carries forward the illustrious tradition of the last Polish king's Cabinet des Médailles.
After the passing of Stanislaus Augustus, a significant portion of his remarkable coin and medal collection—over 16,000 items—was sold to the Lyceum in Kremenets, Ukraine. These treasures eventually made their way to Kiev, where they remain at the National Museum of the History of Ukraine.
The collections displayed at the reconstructed Castle focus on Polish themes and connections to Poland, making this an enriching experience for history enthusiasts! 📜✨
