The exhibition HIT BY NEWS presents a selection from the collection of Annette and Peter Nobel. They began collecting artworks in the 1980s, when Peter Nobel worked as a lawyer at one of Switzerland’s leading publishing houses, and in the 1990s he was appointed executor of the estate of the late writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt. Since then, the Nobels have devoted themselves to collecting “press art,” and their art collection now includes over 2,000 works focused on the dialogue between art and the press. Renowned independent curator Christoph Doswald has selected a wide range of artworks for the exhibition at DOX. The exhibition offers a penetrating and critical look at the fascinating theme of a society that has been, is, and will continue to be shaped by the media.
