Waa ni-aankobijigejig Future Ancestors Youth Summit 2026

About the event

Join the exciting Future Ancestors Youth Summit 2026 hosted by the Youth Cabinet at ROM! 🎉 This vibrant event invites youth aged 14-18 from the Greater Toronto Area to immerse themselves in the richness of Indigenous voices, arts, and cultures while fostering community connections.

🌞 Open to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth, this summit offers an incredible opportunity to deepen your understanding of Indigenous cultures, meet like-minded peers, and strengthen community relations.

✨ Participants will engage in interactive workshops including hoop dancing, storytelling, painting, and other artistic expressions that celebrate Indigenous cultures from across Turtle Island. You'll also have the chance to explore the Daphne Cockwell First Peoples Gallery and the extensive collection at ROM comprising over 18 million artifacts!

🤝 This empowering event focuses on developing leadership skills, creative outlets, and fostering a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives in a supportive, youth-centered environment.

🍽️ Participants will enjoy a light lunch with peers, have the chance to attend three workshops, and explore the museum to their heart’s content! Plus, youth can earn volunteer hours towards their requirements.

🔍 Remember to apply through the Tickets link on this Facebook event! Please note this application serves as an interest form and does not confirm registration. Follow-up emails from ROM will confirm your place once you are selected, as spaces are limited.

🎊 Exciting workshops, special guests, and surprises are on the way, so stay tuned!
