About the event

The Ďáblický Cemetery, located on the border of the Prague districts of Ďáblice and Střížkov, is the second largest cemetery in Prague in terms of area and a world unique - the only cubist cemetery in the world. It is also an important place of memory of Czech history: in its northern part there is an honorary burial ground referring to the second and third (anti-communist) resistance. The victims of the Nazi and Communist terror are buried in mass graves near the northern wall. In 2015, the Forest of Remembrance was opened in the cemetery grounds, the first natural burial ground in the Czech Republic where the ashes of the dead are deposited with memorial trees. Then in 2023 the Luční cemetery was added, the first ecological cemetery in the Czech Republic, where the deceased are buried in ecological coffins in a flower meadow without traditional headstones.
