When You Wish Upon a Star:
How do the wonders of the universe inspire arts, sciences and human evolution?

From ancient stargazing to modern space exploration, humanity has always looked to the skies in search of meaning.

This session, in collaboration with Hosei University and the HKU Alumni of Japan, is part of an ongoing English talk series in Tokyo.

Dr. Yam explores how the universe has shaped art, science, and imagination—while also inviting us to reflect on ourselves. As we reach outward into space, we are also drawn inward, asking deeper questions about who we are and the mystery of life. The session opens a dialogue on curiosity, self-discovery, and the future of human exploration.
