Inwood Canoe Club’s Sunday Open House

Join us for the Inwood Canoe Club's Sunday Open House this summer! 🏖️ Enjoy free guided 20-minute kayak trips on the beautiful Hudson River, just north of the iconic George Washington Bridge.

Open House Details:

• Where: Inwood Canoe Club
• When: Every Sunday from May 25 to August 31, 2025 (Note: There will be no Open House on July 13; instead, it moves to July 12 for City of Water Day. More Details Here)

Kayaking Experience:

• Signup begins in person at 9 a.m. for three guided trips on a first come, first served basis. Make sure to return to the boathouse on time to secure your spot!
• Waves of Kayaking:
  • Wave 1: Arrive at 9:45 a.m., launch at 10 a.m.
  • Wave 2: Arrive at 10:30 a.m., launch at 10:45 a.m.
  • Wave 3: Arrive at 11:15 a.m., launch at 11:30 a.m.
• Paddle solo or enjoy a tandem kayak with a friend! No prior paddling experience necessary. 🛶

What We Offer:

• Kayak in one of our 12 Sit-On-Top (SOT) kayaks, or join a tandem boat (available as supplies last).
• Experience the thrill of group paddling with up to six guests and two ICC members in our unique “canoemaran.”

Important Details:

• All guests must be able to swim. 🏊‍♂️
• Minimum age is 8 years old. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
• The right to paddle depends on our club member's discretion based on the day's conditions.
• We provide the boat, paddle, and PFD (personal flotation device). Bring shoes and clothes that can get wet!
• Avoid taking many valuables; leave them at the boathouse, or bring a waterproof bag. ICC is not responsible for any lost items.
• Please, no pets allowed at the Open House.

Since its inception in 2002, the Inwood Canoe Club has proudly facilitated the only walk-up kayaking program in Northern Manhattan, serving over 1,000 guests each summer! 🌞
