About the event

Join us for an enlightening day at UCD Lyons Farm as we unveil our groundbreaking project, "Multispecies Swards for Sustainable Grazing." This initiative, hosted by the Datamars Sustainability Foundation in partnership with University College Dublin and Teagasc, aims to revolutionize the future of agriculture.

This four-year project, with funding from DMSF and support from BiOrbic and VistaMilk, focuses on promoting multispecies swards (MSS) within Irish and international livestock systems. By integrating long-term field research with farmer-oriented social science and stakeholder engagement, we aim to showcase how MSS can enhance farm profitability, reduce emissions and fertilizer use, and improve soil health and biodiversity.

At this launch event, we will share preliminary findings from the project, providing farmer and advisor insights on the adoption of MSS. Expect to connect with key stakeholders in the agriculture community as we highlight Ireland’s leadership in innovative regenerative pasture management.

The day will include:

  • Opening remarks from Minister Noel Grealish TD
  • Presentations on early findings
  • A panel discussion featuring farmers and researchers
  • Guided field visits at Lyons Farm

Note: Attendance is by invitation only. Please confirm your attendance and, if you are unable to join, kindly inform us so another guest may take your place. Further event details will be shared soon!
