Fireside Chat with Prof Hiroaki Suga: From Scientific Discovery to Global Impact
National GRIP is pleased to host an exclusive fireside chat with Prof Hiroaki Suga, one of the world’s leading figures in chemical biology and medicinal chemistry.
A 2023 Wolf Prize laureate, Prof Suga is renowned for his pioneering work in peptide science and drug discovery. Beyond academia, he is also an accomplished entrepreneur, having founded multiple pharmaceutical ventures, including PeptiDream, a publicly listed company with a market valuation exceeding USD 1.5 billion.
In addition to his scientific and entrepreneurial achievements, Prof Suga plays a key role in shaping national innovation strategy in Japan. He serves as a senior advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister and is a member of Japan’s Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CSTI).
