Join us for Silence Falls, showcasing a captivating new series of paintings by Nikola Kopp Lourková. Experience how silence transforms into a space for introspection and gentle observation. Ordinary objects—chairs, apples, dishes, pins, or even parts of the body—emerge from delicate, layered colors, reminiscent of personal memories. These motifs subtly hint at their presence from a dreamy backdrop.
🎨 Kopp Lourková employs a soft palette of pink, ochre, and fleshy tones, interspersed with striking color accents and gently interrupted lines. Here, silence transcends emptiness, embodying a moment where the world reveals hidden details often overlooked.
In contrast to her earlier works focused on fear and tension, this recent collection embodies a sense of relaxation and a slow, contemplative painting process. The depicted everyday items exhibit traces of touch, time, and the delicate balance of unease, revealing the artist’s journey in finding equilibrium.
The exhibition also features Jitka Svobodová’s acclaimed work, Door and Window (1981), enriching the experience with both artists sharing a fascination for the ordinary and its visual allure—Svobodová through space, light, and form; Kopp Lourková through layered colors and painterly gestures. This exhibition invites viewers to pause and observe with a fresh perspective, allowing things to resonate anew.
