Steaming Day

Join us for a day of discovery and learning at our historic site featuring three listed buildings and four stunning Victorian beam engines! One of these magnificent engines has been fully restored by our dedicated volunteers and will be steaming throughout the day. 🌍

Explore the rich history of this iconic location and learn about its vital role in London's 'ground-breaking' sewerage system, which still serves the capital today. Don’t miss "The Great Stink Exhibition," showcasing why this remarkable feat of Victorian engineering was desperately needed.

Children can take part in a free Make and Take craft activity with the Learning Team and embark on an exciting children’s Activity Trail around the Crossness site! 🧒🎨

We’re offering a free shuttle bus from Abbey Wood Station to our entrance, and a narrow gauge railway will transport you from the gate to the main site. 🚍🚂

Tickets: Choose between two time slots—10:00 to 12:00 or 12:00 to 15:00. Arrive any time within your selected slot and stay as long as you like until closing at 16:00 (last entry at 15:00).

Your ticket includes access to our vintage shuttle bus service, the ride on the narrow gauge train, and entry to the Pumping Station. Enjoy light refreshments from our Coffee Shop and explore our gift shop, where you’ll find a variety of unique souvenirs, some crafted by our amazing volunteers! 🛍️☕
