How does an object come to be?

What is meant by design?
The world exists around us. We shape the things we are a part of, bending and guiding them toward purpose. This is making: rooted in study, instinct, and a reverence for what already exists.
For Keita Design, this process begins with urban harvested lumber from across Los Angeles. Materials that have already lived a life are re-approached, allowing form to emerge through a dialogue between intention and material.
What guides this shaping? The language of strength, constraint, and purpose moves in concert with delicacy, mass, movement, and poetry. Each work reflects a series of decisions — measured, intuitive, and cumulative.
These pieces exist between sculpture and furniture, resisting fixed definition and inviting a slower way of seeing.
To honor the world while recognizing our place within it — and at the same time to embrace our capacity to transform it — is to embrace the sublime.
Visitors are invited to experience the work in an intimate gallery setting and engage directly with the artists.
