🌟 Join us for the AI4Science Hackathon at Merantix AI Campus!
Unleash your creativity and build an autonomous AI agent that can autonomously tackle scientific problems without prior knowledge of the task!

✨ About the Hackathon
This is an autoresearch hackathon where each team will create a system—whether it’s an agent scaffold, prompting strategy, or a tool-use pipeline. Instead of solving problems yourself, you’ll let your agent do the hard work!

🔧 How It Works

• Teams will be provided with real scientific tasks extracted from experimental and observational datasets.
• Feel free to study the task format, run your agent against them, and evaluate its outputs while iterating on your design.
• Final submissions will be tested on hidden problems no one has encountered before. Rest assured, your agent runs fully autonomously during evaluation—no prompts, no nudges, and definitely no human in the loop!

🧪 What We’re Testing
Can your agent generalize across different scientific domains? Can it analyze unfamiliar data and produce meaningful results independently? That’s what we aim to discover through this hackathon!

📚 Problem Categories
Tasks will be drawn from the following domains:

• Materials
• Science of AI/ML
• Climate
• Bio
  Teams can choose to specialize their agent for one domain or challenge themselves in the General Science super-category, where the same agent will be run against test problems from all four domains.

• 1:30 PM - Doors open & check-in
• 1:45 PM - Hack kick-off & track intro
• 2:00 PM - 10 min pairing session
• 2:10 PM - Hacking begins!
• 6:00 PM - Pizza & networking
• 7:00 PM - Winners announcement & showcase
• 8:00 PM - Networking continues
