
Annual Danbury Juneteenth Cultural Celebration & Summer Concert
Join us for the 2026 Annual Danbury Juneteenth Celebration hosted by the Danbury Juneteenth Coalition in partnership with CityCenter Danbury! This vibrant event, themed “Thriving Together, Empowering Community: Faith, Family, Freedom,” will take place at the CityCenter Green in downtown Danbury.
🎶 Annual Cultural Celebration (5-6:30 PM)
Experience an array of live performances that embody this year’s theme. The evening will kick off with Larry Mouning and the African Drummers from the Harambee Center for Youth & Community. Enjoy inspiring acts from local choirs including The Faithful Few and New Hope Baptist Churches, along with Visions of Praise liturgical dancers and hip hop dance troupe featuring professional Kani “Nikee” Key. Don’t miss the uplifting performances from emerging lyricist D.J. Gaines! Plus, community line dancing will be led by Rhonda Neal.
A special segment this year will honor community members whose commitment to leadership, service, and advocacy shines bright!
🎤 R&B and Soul Summer Concert (7-9 PM)
Headlining the concert is the acclaimed Mr. Qwes Live Band, renowned for their electrifying blend of soulful vocals and dynamic performance. Joining him is Ms. Simone Moné, another regional favorite with her soulful sound. Together, these artists promise an unforgettable evening celebrating Black artistry, resilience, and joy.
