Art Club with Jamie Kelty

Jamie Kelty’s artworks are urban short stories that draw on the observers’ experiences and memories. In these collages, Jamie layers characters from her sketchbooks with found papers, foils, receipts, acrylic paint, watercolor, and ink. Tearing, scraping, and layering piecemeal, imbues the work with the feeling of a palimpsest.

We will explore how to compose collages considering color, texture, rhythm, and balance with textured papers, magazines, and acrylic paint. (Participants can feel free to bring photos. sketches, textured paper they want to include in their work.)
