Curator Taylor C. Black will kick off the event with a brief talk discussing the interconnected themes of material, political, and cosmological interference evident in the exhibited works.
Experience the magical shade dragon parade to our rooftop for a live sunset performance that showcases the ritual of "skinning" a shade structure, performed by members of The Ritual Division and their friends. This performance is deeply rooted in the material and folk craft traditions celebrated in Shenclave Actual, Ian Henderson's newly commissioned installation, honoring those involved in this "self-initiating secret society." 🌌
Setting the distinctive cloth atop our rooftop structure is the final touch in incorporating this remarkable piece into our exhibition.
