Blackbird Alliance | Soar and Story Book Club

Pls join Blackbird Alliance for our inaugural Soar and Story Stories book club meeting! Starting with our first meeting on July 28th, every other month Soar and Story will host a book club discussion highlighting selections that center stories by women authors. We look forward towards building sisterhood and fellowship through discussion of fiction and non-fiction works that celebrate women of color, allies and co-conspirators.
Our summer read will be The Wilderness, the the second book, published by southern California author Angela Flournoy. This novel tells the story of five Black women over the course of their twenty-year friendship, as they move through the dizzying and sometimes precarious period between young adulthood and midlife. This is the perfect book to sit down and read alongside one of your long time girlfriends!
Copies of The Wilderness will be available for purchase at the discounted price of $20 at the front desk of Blackbird Flagship House. We are also excited to collaborate with Reparations Club as our official book club partner and provider.
